Emotions are unreliable, overvalued, and too easily accepted as truth

Don’t worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will worry about itself.
Enough for the day are its own troubles.

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.”

Arena (feat. Dre Murray & Christon Gray) - W.L.A.K. This song has definitely helped me get through this entire semester. “…My God, we are greatly oppressed Assaulted Some of us have suffered to death.. But we still believe, this hope has been kept In our hearts from the start to bring peace as we wept And now as we weep, though some are asleep, We long for the day death won’t make a peep.. We...

Anonymous asked: God sees your heart, and never forsakes :)
learning-growing:
People don’t realize how much the quiet people see and hear.
It’s because of all the things you guys have told me, sent me, written to me, prayed concerning me…that I know God is looking after me. Because when trial afer trial and loss after loss after loss happens..you walk around like you don’t even know what’s going on. Maybe when we get to heaven you’ll understand.
Thank you.

I like you because you have still stayed even after witnessing the duality of my being

I need prayer. The rough places aren’t smooth yet. And it’s the little things that become the most painful parts. Won’t write them here

“Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive...

This is not a rant, nor is it a self-righteous call to action by yet another wannabe freedom fighter with a defiant Afro. This is not a rant, nor is it a cry for pity, “Woe is me, black woman; bott…

This definitely sounds corny,
Buttttt I really really appreciate all the people from HGIC who have had the guts and passion to work on whatever creative/philanthropic thing they’re interested in and then go on to share it with all of us frequently. All the Nana Kwaku’s, and Paapa’s, and Takyi’s, and Michael Badger’s, and Efua Asibon’s, and so many other people. Cause I know (from many visual...

Being an adult is about...
Being organized. Half the time I’m stressed out just because I’m disorganized. And I’m usually disorganized because I have too much stuff to handle. Literally and activity-wise. And then that happens because I “don’t have time” to sort everything out. I just have to make time. Honestly that’s the Rubix-cube-challenge of being in college. Doing everything...
Discipline is yes, creativity is a question.
ruralcity:
It is no coincidence that our society and education system rewards discipline while discouraging even punishing creativity. Because discipline is acceptance and creativity is dissidence. The system prefers that the masses be disciplined for we are dangerous when we are creative. As a quality, discipline allows you to work for someone else, to follow instructions and to do what you’re...

talking to my friend today about vacations where people go build stuff in “developing” countries
if you donated half the money you spent on the actual vacation, you could employ someone who lives there that is better at building than you are that they don’t have to spend forever teaching before they can actually start
