Arena (feat. Dre Murray & Christon Gray) - W.L.A.K.
This song has definitely helped me get through this entire semester.
“…My God, we are greatly oppressed Assaulted Some of us have suffered to death..
But we still believe, this hope has been kept In our hearts from the start to bring peace as we wept And now as we weep, though some are asleep, We long for the day death won’t make a peep.. We long for the day death won’t make a peep, We long for the day death won’t make a peep…
See I’m just trying to get the One so My future bright cause my eyes on the Son, bro.”
My favourite song right now. My church sang it at one Saturday night service. Gets me through moments of frustration/tiredness. Girl just starts going in at a point and it’s always overwhelming when I watch it. When you see her you’re just like…man, God loves us. You can see it in the way she sings..
One of my favourite songs off of Talented Xth. I would marry Christon Gray if I could. Like, he’s just a blessing. He’s beautiful. A reealll son of the King.. God bless both of them
This is my dude. From repping New York City to the clothing to the hyperactivity and foolishness…lol..if I were a dude I’d be Andy Mineo, no doubt. I just need to get a longboard and I’d be pretty close, even right now.
His mixtape is dope; trust me, even if you don’t like rap/hip-hop, you’ll like it. (‘Michael Jackson’ and ‘Fools Gold’ are the jamzzz) Plus he doesn’t rap just for rapping’s sake, he actually makes you think. Get ittt! :) (just enter your e-mail)
No special anticipation for the new year, just hopeful and humbled by how good God has been and how good He intends to be. You won’t even believe the places He’s taken me to and the things I’ve been able to see.
If there’s one thing I’d plead with people to do, it’s to be consistent. Don’t do something just so you can have your name on it. Don’t do something for a reward/fame/resume. Don’t do something unless you’re going to be dedicated to it. And don’t do any half-baked things. There are far too many things that need attending to, that we can’t let our actions not match up with our words or intentions. I had to be real with myself concerning this, and I’ve turned down certain things and put more of my energy into others because I made up my mind about being an asset to people and not just someone who does any and everything. I know a lot of us young people want to be achievers and all, but don’t deceive yourself in your pursuit of it. This isn’t directed to anyone in particular, but it’s something I want any and every person who reads this blog to think about.
Oh and secondly, subtweeting/subblogging whatever nonsense you want to call it…for the love of God, let’s start directly telling people what is wrong, instead of half-speaking to them on social media. I can assure you that I don’t hope to do those things on any social media platform. I hate coded messages anyway; they get on my nerves.
Slightly related side-note…I’ve done away with not being sincere and so these days, you’ll find me being as sincere as I possibly can. “But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Cor. 3:1-17) Freedom from uncertainty of the future, freedom from other people’s expectations, and most importantly, freedom to be honest with yourself and other people. You can’t buy that, you can’t fake it, and it absolutely cannot be confused with being rude, hateful, or unloving.
Anyway I hope you find this freedom if you haven’t, and I hope you walk in it if you do! I’ll be trying to. Have a good 2013.

My absolute, absolute, absolute favourite song off of S.O.’s So It Continues. He’s a Nigerian-born, London-based rapper. His father passed away when he was 15 so he talks about that time on the album, including on this song. He sampled Kirk Franklin’s “More Than I Can Bear” on this. Get his album doeee, it’s so good
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." -Jesus (John 14:27)
"...but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here." John 14:31
Trying to see beyond this world. Nice to meet you, I'm Andrea.
